Advanced Clutch Technologies (ACT) has released a new high-performance clutch kit, as well as components, for 1966-1985 Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge 8 cylinder applications.

The new clutch kit features a heavy-duty pressure plate that incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear. It also provides a 32-percent increase in clamp force over the stock unit, according to the company.

The ACT Street Clutch Kit combines the heavy-duty pressure plate and a Performance Organic Street Disc, which features special performance organic friction materials to withstand increased heat and abuse. It also features steel-backed linings for high burst strength, as well as modifications engineered for quicker shifting.

According to ACT, the kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement, significantly improved durability and an increase in torque capacity to 620 ft. /lbs.
