Chip Foose’s ‘Overhaulin’’ to Return to TV This Fall

The vehicle restoration show “Overhaulin’” will be coming back to television, according to a recent article in Variety. The show, which follows industry icon Chip Foose as he performs major transformations on beat-up vehicles, has been picked up on the Discovery Channel-owned Velocity channel.

1937 Ford Takes Home Goodguy’s 2012 Street Rod d’Elegance Award

“Laid Back,” a 1937 Ford sedan belonging to John Coenen, took home the 2012 Street Rod d’Elegance award last weekend at the Goodguys 12th Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals. The car was originally built at Hot Rods by Boyd, with a build team that included painter/body man Charlie Hutton and Roy Schmitt and the crew at Dominator Street Rods of Brentwood, California.

Greening Auto Co. won the 2012 Golden Builder Award for this 1955 Ford Thunderbird.

Greening Auto Co. was named the winner of the 2012 Golden Builder Award Friday morning at the Grand Opening Breakfast for the Hotrod & Restoration Trade Show. The Nashville-based shop, owned by Jesse and Jeff Greening, won the award for its 1955 Ford Thunderbird.

A low-slung 1937 Lincoln Zephyr called “VooDoo Priest” took home the 2012 Goodguys Mother’s West Coast Custom of the Year award last weekend at the Goodguys 30th All American Get-Together in Pleasanton, California. The car is the latest creation from Metallica frontman James Hetfield and custom car builder Rick Dore of Rick Dore Kustoms.
