Ringbrothers was named the winner of the Golden Builder Award for its 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback “Dragon” Friday morning at the Grand Opening Breakfast for the 2011 Hotrod & Restoration Trade Show. This was the first year the award, which honors the builder of an exceptional car displayed at the HRR Trade Show, was presented.
“Dragon,” which can be seen on the cover of the March issue of Hotrod & Restoration, features a custom interior by Upholstery Unlimited that includes four-point racing seat belts held in place by custom-made billet that comes out from the rear seats. It has a Roush 427 IR V-8 crate motor, a five-speed Tremec transmission and a Flowmaster exhaust.
Almost every panel of the car was modified or customized by Spring Green, Wisconsin-based Ringbrothers. “Dragon” features a Detroit Speed QUADRALink Suspension in the rear and a front suspension by JMT Auto Works.
The car was painted using BASF Glasurit paint in “Dragon Blood” and “Castle Gray.”
“Dragon” has Forgeline three-piece wheels. Its emblems and logos were all custom-fabricated with aluminum or carbon fiber.
The May issue of Hotrod & Restoration will feature complete coverage of the Golden Builder Award and HRR Trade Show display vehicles.
