September: 1969 "Poison" Hemi Dart
Our September Car of the Month is a unique 1969 Hemi Dodge Dart that was the climax of a ten-car build for the Discovery Channel’s “Wrecks to Riches” TV show. The car was built for its owner, Bob Matranga by Barry White of Barry’s Speed Shop in Corona, California. It features a 472 Mopar Hemi crate motor, twin four-barrel carbs with an Edelbrock intake and custom-built headers. To officially make it the “Poison” Dart, the car’s designer, Chris Brown, convinced Rikki Rockett of the band Poison to autograph the console.
