1932 Ford Roadster Being Built to Benefit the Children of Fallen & Disabled Soldiers

The IronMen Foundation (a 501[c][3] not-for-profit organization) is building a 1932 Ford Roadster to provide scholarships to the children of slain and disabled soldiers.

The all-steel car, called “Metal of Honor,” is being built entirely with parts donated by American hot rod part manufacturers.

Sales Total $68 Million at 2010 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction

A 1964 Shelby Cobra Roadster (Lot #1317) sold for $478,500, making it the highest-priced automobile sold at the auction.

A 1964 Shelby Cobra Roadster (Lot #1317) sold for $478,500, making it the highest-priced automobile sold at the auction.

The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company recorded more than $68 million in total sales during the 39th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona last week. The total is an 11 percent increase from Scottsdale 2009.

Top sellers included a 1929 Hamilton Metalplane H-47 airplane for $671,000 and a 1964 Shelby Cobra that brought in $478,500.

The 1974 Chevrolet Corvette T-top coupe will be auctioned off for charity on Jan 20.

A prestine 1974 dark green Corvette coupe is scheduled to be auctioned off at the 2010 Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale on January 20th, benefitting the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation for amyloidosis research. All proceeds from the auction of this Corvette will be donated to the Foundation.

Gene Winfield designed his custom Cadillac "Maybellene" with the lyrics to Chuck Berry's song in mind.

After listening to Chuck Berry’s hit song “Maybellene,” legendary custom car builder and designer Gene Winfield decided he would build his own custom Cadillac that would be worthy of the name “Maybellene” and to serve as his personal drive-around custom.

When Winfield finished his dream car, he had created a show-stopping Cadillac masterpiece. And now this masterpiece will cross the auction block at the Russo Steele auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, on January 20-24, 2010.
