Weekend Car Shows & Events Roundup

A number of car shows are being held across the country this weekend showcasing roadsters, rods, customs and muscle cars.

A number of car shows and events are being held the first weekend in February that offer shops the chance to display their latest projects, connect with new customers and support local charities, including Cars for the Cure and the Rotary CARE Car Show. The 8th Annual “Cars for the Cure” Heathrow automotive festival takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Colonial Town Park in Lake Mary, Florida. The event kicks off Friday with a VIP reception. The all-day auto show takes place Saturday and will feature American and international customs, European exotics, racers, muscle cars and custom bikes. The Sunday Drive begins Sunday morning and will cruise along Central Florida highways. Proceeds from the event will benefit the American Lung Association in Florida. The 13th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Autofest takes place Saturday and Sunday E*Plex – Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Missouri. The indoor show will feature street rods, muscle cars, motorcycles, 4×4s and imports. Awards will be presented for the Top 30 picks, Best Club Display and Grand Champions. The 2012 Grand National Roadster Show takes place this weekend in Pomona, California.

The car show calendar is back in full swing this weekend with the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California, and World of Wheels hitting New Orleans and Pittsburgh. The 63^rd Grand National Roadster Show takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. The show will feature over 500 vehicles inside all of the Fairplex buildings competing for awards including the coveted America’s Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) award. An additional 400–800 vehicles will be on hand Saturday and Sunday to take part in the 7^th Annual Grand Daddy Drive-In. The event will also celebrate the 80^th anniversary of the 1932 Ford. World of Wheels New Orleans takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Over $20,000 in cash and awards will be presented in classes including Best Rod, Best Restored, Outstanding Street Rod and Outstanding Street Machine. RM Auctions’ Arizona auction takes place Thursday and Friday at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix. A preview day for the collector car auction takes place Wednesday. Nearly 150 classic, collector and exotic vehicles will be up for bid, including a 1909 Buick Model F, a 1938 Cadillac V-16 Presidential Convertible Parade Limousine, a 1959 Chevy Impala convertible and a 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible. The Starbird-Devlin Rod & Customs Charities Car Show takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Century II in Wichita, Kansas. A preview party will be held Thursday night. A number of car shows and events are being held this holiday weekend to give you the opportunity to show off your shop’s best work and network with potential customers, including the Cavalcade of Customs and Mesquite Motor Mania 2012. The Cavalcade of Customs takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati. Over $14,000 in cash and merchandise will be presented at the event in 20 categories, including Outstanding Custom Rod, Outstanding Restored, Outstanding Truck and Outstanding Display. The show will also feature special vehicle displays, Meguiar’s Car Care Tips, the Pinstripers “Art of the Kool Charity Auction” benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children and celebrity appearances. Mesquite Motor Mania 2012 takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Mesquite, Nevada. The La Habra Lions Club will host the Operation Santa Car Show this Saturday in La Habra, California.

Get into the holiday spirit this weekend by attending a car show that supports a great cause, such as the 25^th Annual Christmas Wish Car & Truck Show and the La Habra Operation Santa Custom and Classic Car Show & Toy Drive. The Palm Beach Auction takes place Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. The auction will feature over 350 collector cars up for bid, including a 1958 Desoto Adventurer convertible EFI, a 1957 GMC Palomino Suburban pickup truck, a 1931 Ford Roadster “Land Shark,” a 1936 Packard 12 Dual Cowl Phaeton, a 1949 Studebaker Champion convertible and a 1954 Kaiser Manhattan. The 25^th Annual Christmas Wish Car & Truck Show takes place Saturday at Gator Ford in Seffner, Florida. Early Bird Registration Now Available for Goodguys’ 2012 Events

Early bird registration for 2012 Goodguys Custom Rod & Association events is available now to association members, Goodguys has announced. Goodguys members who register for a 2012 event prior to Dec. 31 will receive $15 off the normal at-event registration fee.

Goodguys will be hosting 21 events across the United States next year.

The 22^nd Annual East Coast Nationals takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Maryland State Fairgrounds Cow Palace in Timonium, Maryland. The event, billed by organizers as “The Largest Indoor Pre-73 All American Car & Custom Motorcycle Show on the East Coast,” will feature 300 antiques, street rods, customs, muscle cars, nostalgia rods, hot rods, nostalgia drag cars and custom motorcycles.
