Custom Car Build to Benefit Breast Cancer Awareness; Sponsors & Volunteers Needed

Autoseum.org has announced that it will facilitate the build of a one-of-a-kind custom breast cancer car. The car will be built on location at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City, New York, starting Thursday, July 1 at 3 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. The build will continue during those hours every Thursday until Aug. 26.

“We will be building a custom restored car along with students and industry stars such as the George Barris East Coast Representatives,” said Mike Manning, president of Autoseum.org.

The 21st Annual Chrysler Employee Motorsport Association Charity Car Show takes place Saturday on the grounds of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan. All makes and models of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcomed to the event, which benefits the Walter P. Chrysler Museum Foundation. Memorial Day Weekend Car Show & Event Roundup

Memorial Day Weekend traditionally marks the start of summer, and shops and communities across the country are hosting car shows to properly kick the season off. Below are details on 13 shows happening this weekend that give you the opportunity to show off your hottest creations and mingle with potential customers.

The Elvis Motor Classics International Car Show takes place Thursday through Sunday at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Hundreds of cars from car clubs throughout the country will be on display throughout the 70 acres that surround Elvis Presley’s Graceland. This special event will be filled with food and fun for the whole family. The car show will run from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. One-day admission for adults and children over 13 is $10. Discounted two-day tickets are available for $18. Discounted three- and four-day tickets are available for $24. Attending a car show can be a great way to get exposure for your shop. Here’s the lowdown on 10 shows and events taking place this weekend around the country.

The Fourth Annual Monterey Rock & Rod Festival takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Monterey Fairgrounds in Monterey, California. This classic and custom car show and oldies rock festival benefits Gateway Center of Monterey County, Inc., a non-profit organization that serves the needs of developmentally disabled adults throughout Monterey County. The show will feature hundreds of pre-1972 hot rods, street rods, muscle cars, trucks and customs. The event will kick off on Friday evening with a Sock Hop featuring live 1950s- and 1960s-style music starting at 6 pm. Saturday will feature the car show and performances from a variety of rock ‘n roll bands on the Payton Stage, including headlining act The Shirelles featuring Beverly Lee. Goodguys Event Will Raise Money for Nashville Flood Relief

The three-day event will be held at LP Field in Nashville.

Goodguys will partner with Hands on Nashville during the Goodguys 5^th Bridgestone Nationals to help raise funds for the victims of the Nashville floods. The event, which begins Friday, May 21 and will run through Sunday, May 23 in Nashville, is now not only a weekend to celebrate rods and customs, but a rallying point for flood relief efforts for the city.

The 4th edition of the Meguiar’s Orange County Get Together, a Goodguys event, takes place Saturday and Sunday at the O.C. Fair & Events Center in Costa Mesa, California. The event will feature an indoor car show, cruise lane, vendor exhibits, live entertainment, an outdoor midway, autograph sessions and autocross. The show runs Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission is $17 and kids 7–12 get in for $6. Parking is $5. For more information, visit www.ocgettogether.com.

250+ Classic Cars Expected at Budweiser's Houston Brewery for Car Show

The 19th annual United Way Bud Classic Car Show is set to take place this Saturday, May 1 in Houston. An expected 250 classic cars of all makes, models, years will compete for more than 150 awards.

The show will be held at Anheuser-Busch’s Houston Brewery, and money raised at Saturday’s event, which will also include an auction, will go to support the United Way of Greater Houston.
