Golden Super Cruise Returns

The Golden Super Cruise in Golden, Colo., now in its ninth year, starts the 2013 season on Saturday, May 4 and will continue each first Saturday through October.

There are no fees; participants cruise through Golden’s downtown and out toward the Sonic Burger stand – to the delight of onlookers and fellow hot rodders.

The cruise is open to all and attracts thousands of classics, hot rods, rat rods, beaters and survivors, as well as a few brand new rides right off the show room floor. Townspeople and visitors alike will be lining the streets to cheer and to get a glimpse of the latest car creations.

Twilight Cruise Night Returns to the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum

Twilight Cruise Night returns to NHRA Museum

The Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, Pomona, Calif., presented by Automobile Club of Southern California, announced the return of its monthly Twilight Cruise Night presented by Prolong Super Lubricants.

The Cruise Nights will be held on the first Wednesday of every month, April 3-Dec. 4, from 4-8 p.m. with free museum admission after 3 p.m., according to a news release from the NHRA Motorsports Museum.

Open to the public and cruisers, Cruise Nights include family friendly festivities such as music, food vendors and raffle prizes. Attendees also have the opportunity to participate in the special end-of-the-year Grand Prize Drawing featuring a California Hot Rod Reunion Getaway Package, an Auto Club NHRA Finals Weekend Package and a Smith-Million Union 76/Mobil Gasoline Tanker Collector Truck with all proceeds benefiting the museum.

The 21st NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Auto Club Famoso Raceway in McFarland, California. Presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California, the event is the place to be to reunite with racing legends and relive the golden era of drag racing when names like “Big Daddy”, “The Snake” and “Mongoose” became hometown heroes, according to organizers. The California Hot Rod Reunion is also the last stop in the 2012 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Racing Series. “TV Tommy” Ivo will serve as the event’s grand marshal. The 1956 Ford convertible 'Suncammer,' built by Steve Cook Creations of Oklahoma City, took home the Ridler Award at the 2011 Detroit Autorama. A new Ridler winner will be crowned this weekend.
