Dakota Digital Releases Climate Control System for Vintage Air A/C Systems

Dakota Digital has introduced its new DCC Series Digital Climate Control System, which is created to interface directly with Vintage Air’s Gen-IV Air Conditioning Systems and to provide full climate control.

The DCC Series offers a full-character vacuum fluorescent digital readout to match the VFD Digital Instrument Systems or an LCD Display matching Dakota Digital’s VHX Hybrid Analog/Digital Instrument Systems.

Horizontal and vertical configurations are available, with the unit sized to match the Vintage Air controller for a simple migration. According to the company, installation is easier with the addition of a series of temp sensors, while plugging directly into the Gen-IV wiring.

Dakota Digital Releases New 1960s & 1970s Chevy Truck Instrument Series

A new series of instrumentation has been introduced by Dakota Digital. The VHX Series of Instrumentation is designed to fit 1960-1972 Chevy trucks. The instruments in the series feature lighted needles, backlit faces and a full character message center for all displays.

The instruments utilize solid-state sensors and precision stepper motors for increased accuracy. The VHX Series can be used with either a stock or aftermarket wiring harness and either a stock, modified or late-model drivetrain.

Systems are available with a blue or red display color and either a satin silver or carbon fiber-style face.

Dakota Digital has introduced a new application in its VHX Series of Instrumentation for 1955-1959 Chevy trucks. The instruments feature lighted needles, backlit faces and a full character message center for all displays.

The VHX Series utilizes solid-state sensors and precision stepper motors to help to increase accuracy, according to the company. The VHX-55C-PU uses either a stock or aftermarket wiring harness, and either a stock, aftermarket, modified or late-model drivetrain.

SEMA Announces 2010 New Product Showcase Winners

SEMA has announced the winners of the New Products Showcase Awards. The awards were given out at the New Products Awards Breakfast held last Tuesday at the 2010 SEMA Show. The event serves as a kickoff just prior to the official opening of the show, and it recognizes the most cutting-edge automotive products either on the market or about to hit the market, according to SEMA. More than 2,000 new products submitted for consideration in this year’s competition.

Criteria that ranked high on the judges’ selection for the New Product Showcase Awards included superiority of innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability.

Winner: LOKAR Performance Products, Drive-by-Wire Electronic Throttle Control (ETC)

Description: Lokar partnered with World Leader, Williams Controls to develop the first Programmable Electronic Drive-By-Wire Throttle Pedal for the automotive aftermarket. It can be used with GM, Ford and Mopar applications.

1933 Ford Phaeton Awarded 2010 Ridler Award

Tammy Ray, owner of a gold mine in Georgia, added gold nuggets to the engine and wheels and named the hot rod "Gold Digger."

The owner added gold nuggets to the car's engine and wheels.

Tammy Ray of Dahlonega, Georgia, and her 1933 Ford Phaeton, named “Gold Digger,” was recipient of the 2010 Ridler Award. Ray was named the winner during the 58th Annual Murray’s-O’Reilly Auto Parts Autorama in Detroit.
