Events Being Held Across the Country Friday for Collector Car Appreciation Day

In May, the United States Senate passed Senate Resolution 513 at the request of SEMA and ARMO, designating Friday, July 9, 2010, as Collector Car Appreciation Day. Listed below are 10 events happening across the country celebrating Collector Car Appreciation Day. More events can be found on Hotrod & Restoration’s Facebook page and on SEMA’s website.

American Collectors Insurance and Hemmings Motor News are partnering to celebrate National Collector Car Appreciation Day at the insurance provider’s headquarters, 496 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The event will feature classic cars, food, music, giveaways, and American Collectors Insurance VIPs and auto experts.

Gallery: Cool Cars Invade ‘The OC’ at the Goodguys Get-Together

The Goodguys hosted its 4th Meguiar’s Orange County Get-Together this past weekend, bringing vendors and enthusiasts together to celebrate the classic car hobby.

The event was held in Costa Mesa, California at the Orange County Fairgrounds and was open to all years of hot rods, custom cars, street rods, muscle cars and trucks. It included a WestCoast Customs display, tons of vendors and exhibitors and a Street Auto Cross, in which muscle cars and hot rods competed in a timed road course.

However, the real stars of this show were the cars! Hundreds of hot rods, street rods, customs, muscle cars and trucks participated in the indoor and outdoor car show. The Get-Together was open to American or American-powered cars and trucks from any year.

This Weekend’s Car Show & Event Round-Up

This weekend is packed with more opportunities for hot rod shops and enthusiasts to pull their treasured classic cars out of storage and show them off! Here’s the lowdown on 10 shows happening this weekend around the country that you can attend to highlight your best work and get acquainted with potential customers.

The 4th edition of the Meguiar’s Orange County Get Together, a Goodguys event, takes place Saturday and Sunday at the O.C. Fair & Events Center in Costa Mesa, California. The event will feature an indoor car show, cruise lane, vendor exhibits, live entertainment, an outdoor midway, autograph sessions and autocross. The show runs Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission is $17 and kids 7–12 get in for $6. Parking is $5. For more information, visit www.ocgettogether.com.
