NHRA Museum Curator Greg Sharp Honored by International Drag Racing Hall of Fame

Greg SharpGreg Sharp, curator of the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, California, was honored at the 2010 International Drag Racing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Gainesville, Florida, on March 11. He was presented with the Special Founder’s Award for his contribution to preserving and maintaining motorsports history.

“Big Daddy” Don Garlits personally called Sharp to give him the good news, according to the Museum.

Jack Roush Presented With Robert E. Petersen Lifetime Achievement Award

On Friday, March 12, Jack Roush became the eighth recipient of the prestigious Robert E. Petersen Lifetime Achievement Award during the Grand Opening Breakfast of the 12th annual Hotrod & Restoration Trade Show. Roush accepted the award in front of nearly 1,000 hot rod and restoration industry members at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Petersen Auto Museum to Host Fiberglass Car Tour

Petersen Museum Exhibit

The Petersen Automotive Museum, located in Los Angeles, will host a Curator’s Tour on Tuesday, March 23, on its latest exhibit “Fantasies of Fiberglass.”

Museum Curator Leslie Kendall will give an in-depth tour of a display of iconic fiberglass customs and production cars from the past 50 years.

New Exhibit & Events for 50th Kragen O’Reilly NHRA Winternationals, Feb. 11-14

Celebrating 12 years of motorsports history, the Museum offers an array of unique events and activities taking place during the four-day Winternationals, all of which are open to the public and cost little or nothing.

Legends Dinner to Feature Five Decades of the Winternationals Stars

The NHRA community will be afforded a rare opportunity to hear stories from the drivers who lived it when NHRA hosts the Legends Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 13 in Pomona, California, as part of its weeklong celebration of the 50th running of the iconic Kragen O’Reilly NHRA Winternationals.

Gale Banks Engineering and the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum are proud to present the Museum’s latest exhibit: “Mickey Thompson: First American to 400 mph,” which opens to the public on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 in conjunction with the 50th anniversary Kragen O’Reilly NHRA Winternationals.
