Goodson Tools Introduces New Electric Rod Heater

Goodson Tools has released its new Electric Rod Heater for engine builders, which is designed to heat one or two connecting rods at the same time, according to the company. It has two high-output heating elements that will reach temperatures of up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Electric Rod Heater is compatible with virtually any electrical system and requires only 220 volts and 50/60Hz. The heater’s cord features a pigtail end so that it can be customized to most electrical hook-ups, both domestic and foreign.

Holley Introduces New Billet Fuel Pumps for Carbureted or Fuel-Injected Vehicles

Holley Performance Products has released its new line of billet HP and Dominator In-Line Fuel Pumps, which are designed for use in a carbureted or fuel-injected street, race, off-road and other vehicles.

The fuel pumps are gasoline- and diesel-compatible and can be used in racing applications with an 18.5-volt charging system up to 80 psi, according to Holley. They have a 100,000-plus mile durability and are fully submersible for in-tank installations.

The HP fuel pumps are capable of supporting 1,050 horsepower, while the Dominator pumps can support up to 2,100 horsepower.

New Leather Care System Now Available From Meguiar’s

Meguiar’s now offers a new two-step leather care system that’s designed to restore the rich appearance and suppleness of a car’s leather interior.

The first step in the system is to use the Gold Class Leather and Vinyl Cleaner. The cleaner restores the look and feel of leather or vinyl seats and trim, as well as eliminates dirt and grime, according to the company. It’s formulated to remove both oil- and water-based stains.

The second step in the system is to use the Gold Class Leather Conditioner on the clean vinyl or leather. The conditioner moisturizes and conditions the leather to improve its look and feel, said Meguiar’s. The conditioner includes UV protection to help prevent the aging and fading of leather. It’s formulated with aloe and moisturizing oils.

Performance Automatic Releases New Pumps for AOD & 4R70W Transmissions

Performance Automatic has added two new “Pro Pumps” to its line of transmissions and components. The new pumps are designed to be used with AOD and 4R70W transmissions.

The company checks for proper pump bushing centerline and examines the pump gear pocket to ensure it has the correct depth. The stator housing is reconditioned and machined for a thrust bearing, eliminating the plastic washer that may fail due to excessive rpm, said the company. Modified stator rings are installed, as well as a new pump O-ring and gasket.

The Pro Pumps are direct replacement parts that come complete with a roller bearing. They’re suitable for any rebuild, according to Performance Automatic.

RideTech Releases New Triple Adjustable Coil-Overs

New Triple Adjustable Coil-Overs have just been added to the RideTech line of shocks. According to the company, these coil-overs go beyond the typical double-adjustable units by utilizing a single rebound adjustment and a dual stage compression adjustment (high and low speed).

They use a remote reservoir that is connected with a 30-inch braided line for easy installation in a variety of applications, according to the company. The high speed adjustment allows tuning for impact harshness such as potholes, speed bumps, off-road use or other hard road irregularities.

The low speed adjustment allows tuning of ride quality, as well as the general cornering characteristics of road and racetrack use.

Other features of the new coil-overs include a monotube design, a impact forged body and the remote reservoir that comes with mounting brackets.

New Aluminum Auburn Dash Panels Released by Doc’s Kustom

Doc’s Kustom has introduced a new version of the famous Auburn instrument panel. The main panel is CNC-machined from solid aluminum and features separate engine-turned inserts made in 22-gauge stainless steel.

The panel is made with three holes across the top to accommodate LED indicators. It’s available in five-gauge (shown here) or six-gauge versions.

The company also offers the bare panel on its own, as well as the engine-turned inserts either with or without gauges. The product is made in the USA.

Wintec Fabrication Introduces New Model A Traditional-Style Chassis

A new traditional-style Model A chassis has been released by Wintec Fabrication. The chassis is manufactured from 1 ½- x 3-inch rectangular steel tubing and features a front four-bar suspension, 4-inch drop-forged tube (or I-beam) axle and a dropped front crossmember.

The chassis comes with a Vega steering box, a new 9-inch Ford rear housing with brake line tabs, a rear panhard bar, radius rods, coil over, brake pedal and a master cylinder. It’s equipped with body mounts and is set up for a small-block Chevy engine, with pre-drilled and tapped holes for all fender and running board mounting.

HRR Tech Editor Mike Mavrigian recently put Snap-on Tools’ new Tech Angle Wrench to the test. The wrench includes a protective case and is available in several versions, including ¼- 3/8- and ½-inch drives. The digital torque wrench is capable of operating in several modes, including ft./lbs., in./lbs., Nm and angle of rotation. Anyone who has serviced engines (or even certain driveline and chassis components) from the early 1990s until the present is aware that many OEM threaded fastener tightening requirements call for a combination of torque-plus-angle specifications as opposed to a torque-only spec. The common applications for this procedure include cylinder head fasteners, main cap fasteners and connecting rod bolts.

PRW Releases New Steel Harmonic Damper for Pontiac Engines

PRW's new 1959-1967 Pontiac 326-421 Black Damper is shown with a silver-anodized aluminum pulley.

PRW Industries has introduced a new SFI-rated Steel Harmonic Damper that’s designed for 1959-1967 Pontiac 326-421 engines. The damper is tested at 12,500 rpm and is CAD-engineered and CNC-machined from high-grade billet steel and aluminum.

The damper will protect an engine from harmful harmonic vibrations, and can be used for a Concours-level restoration, according to the company. It can be mounted with the stock pulley to help maintain an original lock. The timing marks are laser-etched onto the damper to ensure they’re easy to read and won’t wear off.

ididit Introduces New Steering Columns for Second-Gen Camaros

ididit inc.has added new 1970-1975 second-generation Camaro steering columns to its Made to Fit product line. The columns are a direct bolt-in application and will connect to a stock box or rack.

The collapsible steering columns feature an eight-position tilt, knobs and handles, a GM top shaft, and GM era-specific wiring. They’re packaged with a Camaro-specific floor mount that’s designed to fit and hold the lower end of the column securely, said the company.

The new steering columns are available with a paintable steel, chrome or black powdercoated finish and are made in the U.S.A.
