O’Brien Truckers Introduces Four-Fin Valve Cover Breathers

O’Brien Truckers has announced the release of its new valve cover breathers that are patterned after the ones released by G-T Equipment in 1964. The breathers feature a distinctive four-fin design that allows for the builder to add color between the fins for extra detail.

The improved version features a removable cover and open cell foam insert to keep oil inside the valve covers, said the company. The mounting surface area is 7.5 x 1.25 inches and the removable top cover measures 8.25 x 1.75 inches. The breather assembly adds only 2.25 inches to the side of the valve cover. It has a height of 3 1/8 inches.

Juliano’s Introduces New Classic ’40 Steering Wheel

Juliano’s has released a new hot rod steering wheel that’s identical to the original ’40 steering wheel, except that it’s machined from solid billet aluminum to prevent cracking. It can be used for builders looking for a two-tone paint theme, according to the company.

The new ’40 steering wheel measures 15 inches in diameter, which makes it ergonomically favorable for maneuvering and getting in and out of the car, said the company. The wheel can be used with an OEM-style column or any other GM-style column.

Wilwood Introduces New Rear Parking Brake Kit

The new D154 Pro Series Rear Parking Brake Kit from Wilwood Disc Brakes is designed for easy bolt-on installation as an upgrade or as a conversion from drum brakes. The kit includes everything necessary for installation.

Included in the kit is a floating caliper that helps to minimize knock-back in axles that are prone to movement, said the company. The internal shoe parking brake is hidden inside the integral disc hat and helps to provide increased holding power.

The kits are compatible with OEM and aftermarket disc brake master cylinder and are available for popular Ford, GM and Mopar muscle car rear wheel drive axles.

Prolong Introduces New Multi-Purpose Grease

Prolong Super Lubricantshas announced the release of its new EP-2.5 Grease, which has an anti-friction metal treatment. The grease modifies the metal surface to reduce wear, heat and friction, said the company.

The high-performance, multi-purpose grease is formulated for high-speed temperature racing and component lubrication and protection in normal and high stress automotive situations. It can also be used for motorsports and off-roading vehicles, as well as manufacturing equipment.

The EP-2.5 Grease is designed to cling well, ease friction and reduce the frequency of having to repack wheel bearings, according to the company. It’s compatible for use where traditional silicone-based grease is used.

The grease is available in 14-ounce tubes that can be used in any standard cartridge loading grease gun.

Prestolite Performance Releases Mallory FireStorm Ignition System

Prestolite Performance has announced the release of the Mallory FireStorm, a new ignition control system designed to give the user precision and control through customizable software.

The Mallory Firestorm has a comprehensive system that includes one of three types of ignition boxes: a multi-channel capacitive discharge (CD) box, a single-channel CD box and an LS box.

The multi-channel CD box will fire up to eight coils and runs both modular and Hemi motors. It will also convert a conventional V-8 into a multi-coil application to allow individual cylinder timing.

The single-channel CD box is designed for conventional single coil on a conventional four-, six- or eight-cylinder engine.

The LS box will run any LS platform, including the LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7 and LS9. It offers the option to change engine types and is designed to work with OEM or aftermarket smart coils.

The three boxes deliver the same capabilities and power and offer 13 different applications based on configurations and accessories, as well as hundreds of custom options, said the company.

Hooker Headers Releases New Swap Mount Plates for LS Engines

Hooker Headers, a division of Holley, has introduced new LS Engine Swap Mount Plates. The plates are designed to make the task of swapping an LS engine into a classic muscle car or truck as simple as possible.

The company offers five different mount kits to make it easier to find the mounts needed to position the engine and transmission assembly in the correct location, according to the company.

The plates are available for use with stock small-block Chevy engine mounts to place the engine and transmission in the stock location or move it forward 1/2, 1 1/4 or 3 inches. Hooker also offers a mount kit that’s designed for applications that use the clamshell type of mount, such as the G-body.

Dakota Digital Releases Climate Control System for Vintage Air A/C Systems

Dakota Digital has introduced its new DCC Series Digital Climate Control System, which is created to interface directly with Vintage Air‘s Gen-IV Air Conditioning Systems and to provide full climate control.

The DCC Series offers a full-character vacuum fluorescent digital readout to match the VFD Digital Instrument Systems or an LCD Display matching Dakota Digital’s VHX Hybrid Analog/Digital Instrument Systems.

Horizontal and vertical configurations are available, with the unit sized to match the Vintage Air controller for a simple migration. According to the company, installation is easier with the addition of a series of temp sensors, while plugging directly into the Gen-IV wiring.

Bruce Horkey’s Introduces 1936–1956 Dodge Lowside Stake Pockets

Bruce Horkey’s Wood and Parts has introduced new 1936–1956 Dodge lowside stake pockets that are designed to replace torn and rusted original stake pockets for these vehicles.

The stake pockets are die-stamped from 16-gauge steel and laser-trimmed to size so that the builder can use them in any position on the box. The rear crossmember brace is installed and the pockets are ZinKlad-plated for added corrosion protection.

Real Deal Steel Releases 1957 Convertible Skeletons

Real Deal Steel has announced the release of its new steel 1957 convertible skeleton. The skeleton is the complete main body structure, less the exterior skins, which are available at an additional cost. The skeleton includes the full floor and trunk floor with all braces and supports, firewall/cowl/A-pillar and windshield frame assembly.

It also includes the inner and outer rocker panels, inner quarters, trunk walls and wheelhouse panels and the complete trunk hinge assembly. All of the components are fixture-welded and ready for an exterior skin to be installed.

Optional upgrades are also available, including factory installation of new full quarter panels/rear deck panel/tailpan, fitted doors and hinges, and a restored steel dash. All components are welded and fit into place, while the doors and deck lid are bolted.

Doc’s Kustom Introduces 2-in-1 Speedometer/Tachometer

Omega Kustom Instruments, the gauge division of Doc’s Kustom, has released a new “2-in-1″ speedometer/tachometer combo. The gauge features a 4.725-inch stainless bezel with a true glass lens, and comes in a choice of black, white, tan or silver.

The gauge will fit a 4.375-inch hole, which allows it to be used in early dashboards. The speedometer features one-button programming, with an odometer and trip odometer. The tachometer is packaged at the bottom.

The units include senders and can be used in conjunction with Doc’s color-matched engine-function gauges. A variety of make- and model-specific custom panels are also available for use with the gauges.
